A silver cup (three-handled) - Edwardian

Three-handled cups are sometimes called "loving cups" and traditionally they may be used at meetings, banquets or weddings to symbolise unity and friendship. They are past to the left from one guest to the next, with each person taking a sip of wine as it passes.

This fine example is of circular plain form with three equidistant handles and raised on a spreading pedestal foot with stepped base. The breadth measurement below is the diameter of the bowl.
